2010 Funding Announcement
The Jack Petchey Foundation has distributed over £60 million since it was established 10 years ago. The Directors, supported by Jack Petchey, as Patron, have agreed the following priorities for 2010.
The Foundation will continue to focus on the following programmes that benefit young people aged between 11-25 and will concentrate their work in the geographical areas of Greater London, Essex and Portugal only. The programmes to be funded are:
- The Foundation will continue to fund its successful Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme now operating in over 2000 clubs & schools and will invite all state secondary schools/colleges in London & Essex to apply as from January 2010. It is also planned to further expand the scheme into youth organisations. Click here for further information.
- The Foundation will continue to support Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge, now the largest speaking competition for young people in the world. All state secondary schools in London and Essex are invited to participate in this programme in the academic year 2009/10. Click here for further information.
- The Foundation will continue to support the Step into Dance programme with the Royal Academy of Dance. This programme will be offered in 100 secondary schools in London during the academic year 2009/10. Click here for further information.
- The Foundation will continue its partnership with the Panathlon Challenge to ensure that young people with disabilities can participate in competitive sports. This programme will be offered across London & Essex during 2009/10. Click here for further information.
- The Foundation plans to extend the Small Grants fund linked to the Achievement Award programme. There will be two rounds of bids for small grants focused on groups operating the Achievement Award scheme. Click here for more information.
- The Foundation has recently introduced a new programme of individual grants for volunteering. These grants will directly support young people who want to undertake voluntary work in the community. Click here for more information.
