Some pointers as to how our Sponsorship works.
Any young person (aged 11-25 years) who lives in London or Essex
is eligible to apply for Sponsorship from the Jack Petchey Foundation

youth-based organisation:
- Expeditions abroad
- Exchange/Cultural visits abroad
- Volunteering programmes abroad and in the UK
- Representation as a participant at a national or international sporting, dancing or music event
- Participant in the London Marathon (no age limit for participants but you must be running for a recognised youth charity – see below)

You should be able to answer ‘YES’ to the following five questions before you apply for Sponsorship from the Jack Petchey Foundation:
- Are you aged 11-25 years (no age limit for London Marathon – see
below) and living in London or Essex?
- Is the activity/event for which you are requesting sponsorship
going to benefit other young people in some way? How?
- Will your participation in this activity/event help to develop YOU?
How?
- Are you prepared to raise at least HALF of the cost of the
activity/event yourself?
- If you are awarded a Sponsorship Grant from the Jack Petchey
Foundation, are you prepared to submit a brief written report (with one
or two photographs, if required) to the Foundation about your
activity/event following your participation?
All applications for Sponsorship MUST be on the prescribed application form (except for London 2012 – see below), signed by the applicant and endorsed by a responsible adult leader/teacher/organiser before it is submitted to the Jack Petchey Foundation for consideration.
Only one sponsorship application will be considered in any 12 month period.
Applications should state the precise date(s) on which the activity/event is taking place and should be submitted AT LEAST SIX WEEKS before (the start of) the activity/event for which sponsorship is sought.
Any relevant budget and itinerary details for the activity/event must be submitted with the application form.
