Survey finds under-18s wanted to stay in the EU and are worried about the future

A Jack Petchey Foundation survey of those too young to vote in the EU referendum found over 75% wanted to remain in. Over 3,000 young people aged 11-17 from London and Essex finally got a chance to have their say.

Maya spends a month volunteering in a mental health programme in Sri Lanka

In August 2015, 20 year old Maya Welford began a month long Mental Health volunteer placement in Colombo, Sri Lanka with Sri Lanka Volunteers International (SLV). The Jack Petchey Foundation awarded Maya a £280 grant to help cover the costs.

Magpie Dance's £1500 Crystal Awards grant was used to help fund their 30th Anniversary performance at the Langley Park Centre, as well as a youth dance workshop to encourage more young people to join Magpie Dance.

#CrystalAwards: Hackney Youth Club enjoy a weekend away jam-packed with activities.

Springfield Youth Club in Hackney safe haven for young people to meet each other and enjoy themselves. The club used their £1500 grant to help fund a trip to Woodrow House, for a weekend filled with a wide range of activities.

#CrystalAwards: Young people of Epping Forest have their voices heard at Youth Conference

Epping Forest Youth Council (EFYC) are a local body of 22 democratically elected young people, who are 13-19 years old. EFYC used their £1500 Crystal Awards grant to hold a Youth Conference during Local Democracy week in October 2015.

#Crystal Awards: Young performers raise the roof of the Harlow Playhouse

Razed Roof is an inclusive performing arts group for people with, and without, learning difficulties and disabilities. The grant allowed Razed Roof to work on community-based workshops and perform a major production at the Harlow Playhouse.
