We are launching a new programme which gives young people aged 11-25 in Basildon the chance to apply for funding for a community project of their choice!
‘Face the Challenge’ is being piloted specifically in the Borough of Basildon and will consist of a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style competition where young people work in groups to pitch an idea for a project to a panel of experts in an attempt to win one of five available grants of up to £2,000 each.
Grants Officer for Essex, Nikki Casey said, “We want to give young people in Basildon the chance to make a difference to their community. The Jack Petchey Foundation has a long-standing relationship with schools and youth groups in the Basildon area, and we can’t wait to see what the young people can come up with!”From the applications received, eight groups will be shortlisted to attend a specialised training ‘boot camp’ to help them with their pitch before facing the panel!
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 15th November.
