Channel 4 star to judge public speaking challenge!
Jon to judge the capitals best!
Eight Out Of 10 Cats star Jon Richardson will be among the judges at the final of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge!
The challenge, run by Speakers Trust, is open to state secondary schools in London and Essex. Year 10 students take part in a series of workshops to help them develop public speaking skills and build their confidence.
More than 100,000 students have taken part in the challenge since it launched nine years ago. Almost 20,000 took part in this year's event, with 16 finalists now due to address an audience of 1,000 people in the final at Piccadilly Theatre.
The judging panel will also include actor Todd Boyce, who played Stephen Reid in Coronation Street, BBC journalist Brenda Emmanus, Kiss FM presenter AJ King and former High Court judge Baroness Butler-Sloss.
They will be joined by Channel 4 head of entertainment Justin Gorman and last year's Speak Out winner Nosawaru Ihama, from Trinity Church of England School in Belvedere, Bexley.
The winner will receive a prize worth £5,000, with £3,000 going to their school.
Baroness Oona King, a patron of the Speak Out Challenge, said: "Developing great public speaking skills has the potential to change lives - on many levels. Anyone with those skills will be more attractive to employers and will be more successful as an entrepreneur."
"So many aspects of life depend on good speaking skills. But it's not just the people with the skills who benefit; great orators have changed the course of history, have shifted government policy and have raised millions for charity."
This year's final will be held on July 14 from 7pm. Tickets are free and can be reserved at speakoutchallenge.com
