Thames Gateway Youth Football Project
Spectators at Dagenham and Redbridge FC had something extra to cheer about last month, as youngsters and coaches from the Thames Gateway Youth Football Project took to the pitch at half-time to receive their Achievement Awards from The Jack Petchey Foundation.
The Thames Gateway Youth Football Project is a social inclusion programme delivered through professional football clubs which include Dagenham & Redbridge, Charlton Athletic, Millwall and West Ham United. It aims to engage young people up to the age of 21; giving them the opportunity to play football in a fun and safe environment and gain coaching qualifications and employment.
The four Leaders’ Award winners
were chosen for the outstanding contribution they have made towards
young people in the community, and will receive £1,000 to be spent on
the project.
