Toynbee Hall receives JPF support
Beginning in September this year, 50 pupils, aged 14-15, from East London secondary schools, will participate in Toynbee Hall’s Aspire project. Aspire will run in 3 stages: ‘Think’ through citizenship, ‘Express’ through the arts and ‘Achieve’ in the outdoors.
The young people referred by their schools onto the project may not be accessing the curriculum for a range of reasons including, behaviour issues, emotional problems, family problems, where English is a second language, low self esteem and low academic ability. This new initiative works with young people to positively impact on their chances during the last year of school and enable them to feel positive on leaving school.
JPF supported by the programme with a £20,000 grant.
