Time to Shine

The Jack Petchey Foundation is partnering with the Rank Foundation to offer internship opportunities through the Time to Shine programme.

Time to Shine was established in 2008 by the Rank Foundation to help charities address organisational development gaps, and to give young people an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and talents by undertaking year-long paid internships. The programme aims to bring about sustainable improvements to the performance of charities, boost employment prospects and build interest in career opportunities in the Third Sector.

As of 2017, 95 charities have benefited from a Time to Shine internship – typically UK youth and community care organisations. A total of 141 young people have had an opportunity to experience a 12-month Living Wage paid position in a meaningful work role.

In 2017, the Jack Petchey Foundation is co-funding seven Time to Shine internships in London-based charities:

In 2018, the Jack Petchey Foundation will be increasing this to ten Time to Shine internships in London-based charities, giving even more young people a start in the Third Sector.

Below you can watch testimonials from 2017 Time to Shine interns on the success of their year long placement within their charities.
