The Jack Petchey Perfect Pitch Grand Final is this Sunday

This Sunday evening 12 contemporary youth vocal groups will go head-to-head in the Grand Final of the Perfect Pitch competition.

A free music education project with a competitive twist, the Jack Petchey Perfect Pitch programme focuses on teaching a cappella music skills to young people through providing vocal, musical and performance experience.

A total of 36 groups were selected from their audition to work with a member of the Perfect Pitch team in an a capella workshop consisting of vocal warm ups, vocal percussion, performance skills and professional tutoring in two songs of the group’s choice. From there, the groups competed in regional finals and are now ready to compete in the Grand Final this Sunday at Cadogan Hall in Chelsea.

Our Grand Final will include three groups from each of the four regional finals to perform their two songs in front of our panel of industry experts. The judges for 2020 include: composer Thomas Hewitt-Jones, actor and singer Minal Patel, composer Stuart Hancock, actor and singer Sadie-Jean Shirley, TV and film casting director Heather Basten, director of VOCES8 Foundation Chris Wardle and our very own operations director Gemma Juma.

The panel of industry experts and judges will then choose the Jack Petchey Perfect Pitch Champions who will share in a £1000 prize pot.
