Check out some examples of our previous Open Grant projects below – from small grass-roots projects to larger scale developments, these funds go to specific projects that will benefit generations of young people to come.

Jack Petchey’s Reignite Grants.

In 2021we were delighted to award over 100 Reignite Grants totalling an investment of over £800,000 in the youth sector to help re-engage young people in extra-curricular activities, reach more young people and provide a year of opportunities across London and Essex. These grants should collectively support over 18,000 young people engage in local grassroots activities across London and Essex.

COVID Recovery Fund

Our COVID Recovery Fund, focused on helping youth organisations build back better after the impact of the national lockdowns, started December 2020 and was awarded to 27 youth organisations across London and Essex for a wide variety of projects.

One grantee, Thurrock Swimming Club, used the funds to offer 12 months of free swimming lessons to young carers and young adults with special educational needs. Read the full case study below.

Giving Something Back Grants

Our Giving Something Back grants was an open grant programme that actually started before the pandemic truly started to affect the country. Kicking off in February 2020, it turns out it couldn’t have come at a better time to support groups mobilise young people to take action and give back to the services they benefit from.

The Sir Jack Petchey Stand

The Jack Petchey Foundation was one of several funders contributing to a new multi-purpose pitch suitable for all size football matches, with a designated stand named after Sir Jack Petchey himself at Frenford Club, Ilford.
